ALGERIA: ADHESLEEVE TECHNOLOGY INSTALLATIONS ARE INCREASING

PE Labellers -

Algeria is considered the largest consumer of milk and dairy products in the Maghreb region and the second largest importer of milk powder in the world.
Danone continues to expand in Algeria and in 2015 extended its views to Laiterie Trèfle, based in Blida, investing 2 billion dinars to develop its production lines and train the local workforce. A good operation therefore, both for Danone and for Laiterie Trèfle, which keeps the control of its business in the dairy beverage industry; in fact, only the yogurt division was sold. The sale reflects both the "strategic repositioning" of the Tlemsani Agro group, but also enables Danone to set up its business and develop further in Algeria, a strategic market for the group. This agreement has enabled Tlemsani Agro to create a new production site in Relizane, for which a large investment programme of over one billion dinars has been planned, for the creation of new cutting-edge production lines, with the creation of over 100 new direct jobs.
A long-standing P.E. Labellers customer, Tlemsani Agro has recently increased the milk-based drink production lines, adding two Adhesleeve labelling machines.
The first one, 24-head model 810, with servo motor-operated plate rotation system that prevents the replacement of the pulleys, is able to apply pre-glued labels on various can sizes, at a production speed of 40,000 bph, with a relative system for label thermal-shrinking on the can, and is also set-up for the application of standard OPP labels without thermal-shrinking.
The second Adhesleeve labelling machine, 12-head model 540, installed on a PET-packaged fruit juice line, is able to apply pre-glued labels on 1 to 2-litre cylindrical bottles, without thermal-shrinking, at a maximum speed of 18,000 bph.
